On April 16, 2020 at the Thursday morning Meeting, Antonia Royal-Mack an attorney and business advisor spoke on the CARES Act and the effect it is having on small businesses here and nationwide. She explained in a very interesting presentation that businesses are strapped for cash and are trying to take care of their employees and at the same time try to stay afloat financially.
Antonia suggested that the way we work especially from home is a profound change and we may never see a return to the normal we knew before. She said Americans have changed the way they spend money and individuals and business have had to tighten their belts.
Antonia described the various Federal and State programs that are available to help business and unemployed workers especially the PPP program. It was a very interesting and powerful presentation.
Thursday's meeting which was well attended by Morning members and Satellite members also saw the induction of Joe Corazzi, a business consultant who specializes in the oil business. Joe was the first member inducted via ZOOM and it went very well. President Dave, Tony Pino, Jeff Weinrach, Ed Robertson and Herman Haase did the induction.

You all should have received your ZOOM login information but if you haven't, please email me and I will forward it.
Tomorrow's program will feature TK O'Geary from Toastmasters International and District Governor-Elect Sunny Kellerman. Chris Van Dyck, Service Chair has sent an email blast to all of you about the RDS Healthcare Heros Support Project. So please, if you can drive for the deliveries to the hospitals, please click on the Events Calendar and sign up to help. Also Kudos to Steve Reynolds, Cinnabon and Jimmy's Cafe for providing the food for this project. Our Club is helping to pay for the food also.
Speaking of money, we are not billing you for breakfasts at this time, so if you are able and feel so inclined, why not contribute to the Rotary Foundation, either the Annual Fund or Polio Plus. We are a little behind in our goal for both funds so let's step it up and help the Rotary Foundation.
On the local and club level, the Board has agreed to use the Bulletin and Secretary as a Clearing House for people, members and others, who need help at this time with such things as meals or trips to the Doctor or whatever. If you become aware of such a situation please contact the Secretary at secretaryrds@gmail.com and we will try to put you in touch with someone who can help. Please don't use anyones name unless you check with them first.
President Dave emphasized at the last Board meeting that even though we may not be able because of Social Distancing requirements to do group projects, there is still a great need for individual service to those in need.
Lets all have a Great week in Rotary putting Service above Self.
