Talking Talons Youth Leadership is one of our Don Chalmers grant recipients.  Interim Director John Ross will share about the program and it's progress this year. John has served in the nonprofit sector since 1976. He has seen the industry from many angles: he has worked with United Way, served in a wide range of agency leadership positions and chaired and/or participated in numerous community collaborations. However, being a part of Talking Talons Youth Leadership with its focus on supporting and mentoring young people who will be our Climate Change Leaders is the highlight of John’s career. John and his wife Janie love to travel, hug on their five grandchildren, hike and hang out in their garden.

Our speaker next week will be Kevin Dunning, pricipal of Immanuel Lutheran School. A private Christian school educating children ages 2yo – 8th grade. Elizabeth Montoya, one of our newest members, will be speaking about one of her favorite charities - Compassion International -a nonprofit that has been releasing children out of poverty and 24 different countries for almost 75 years. The organization serves 2.2 million children.  Liz has been a volunteer with the organzation for over 8 years! She supports her sponsorship child and the organization because she believes  they do for the children and for generations to come.

Kurt Roth, a UNM graduate is  the director of the startup 505 Sports Venture Foundation, an Albuquerque-based collective that revolves around raising money to pay Lobo athletes with legally binding contracts in exchange for using their names, images or likenesses.

Jessica Fox has been with Sandia Peak Tram and companies for over six years as the manager of Marketing, Communications and Public Relations. She became involved in the New Mexico ski industry 20 years ago  helping the UNM Ski Team Raise funding for support. She continues to work with the New Mexico Ski Hall of Fame and Ski New Mexico on the annual Hall of Fame Ski Banquet.  She is a personal trainer in the early mornings, an avid skier on the weekends, and a lover of her dogs 24/7.
