On October 1, 2020 at the Morning Meeting for Del Sol Rotarians, Del Sol Member Kent Cravens, who is the Executive Director of the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors was the guest speaker. Kent updated us on the current state of the Albuquerque Area Real Estate market. Kent described the Policy and Advocacy functions of GAAR and explained that with Cocid-19, GAAR has converted all its training for Realtors to Virtual Learning. He told us that there are 4000 Realtor members of GAAR, which is the largest trade association in New Mexico. He said they have a staff of 20 at GAAR.
Kent also described the various charity events of GAAR, including Run for the Zoo and their Annual Golf Tournament. GAAR has already met their first goal of $1Million for Charitable projects.
Kent said the Albuquerque Real Estate market is "very robust". There is a very low inventory of homes on the market, which in August was only 1188 properties. He also said that there is a shortage of buildable lots in in Albuquerque and that the Valencia County market is "very hot". It was a very interesting and timely presentation.
