On February 6  the Regular Thursday Meeting was hosted by the Road Runner Food Bank.  25 Rotarians and Guests enjoyed a Burrito Breakfast prepared by Jimmy's Cafe.  They heard a presentation by Development Director Brian Brown about the work of Road Runner.  Brian said Road Runner provides 70,000 meals a day in New Mexico to members of our community who need food support.  

 

President Dave Simon presents a check to Brian Brown of Road Runner Food Bank which was the proceeds of the RDS Beans and Rice Campaign.

 

After the breakfast, Rotary Del Sol volunteers stayed and assisted with the work of the Road Runner Food Bank.

 

Byron Zahm, a guest and prospective member read the Rotary Minute prepared by Joe Rose. 

 

Tony Pino and Ron Hensley gave a report on Sponsorships and Table sales for the Governors Ball.  Ron emphasized getting table reservations soon as the tables will fill up fast this year.  

 

At the February 3, 2020 Satellite Meeting Michael Wood, East Mountain Interact Club Faculty sponsor was inducted into the Club.  His sponsor is Lance Elis

 

There will not be a Satellite Meeting this week but on February 17 there will be one at Nexus Brewery where our newest member Lisa Chavez will be inducted. She is sponsored by Steve Reynolds.

 

This Thursday's Regular Club Meeting at Jimmy's Cafe will feature Karen Hall and Angie Ludi of the Women's Housing Project as speakers.  Please remember to try to arrive by 6:45 AM because of ordering off the menu at Jimmy's. 

 

On February 15 there will be a Service Project to assist the Women2Be organization chaired by member Christine Glidden. It will be at the City Parks Department Office starting at 9:15 AM.

 

Please remember the Celebration of Life for Rick Frendle , late husband of our friend and former member Julie Frendle.  It is February 15 at 2:00pm at the Prairie Star Banquet Room which is located at 288 Prairie Star Road, Santa Ana Pueblo, NM. All Del Sol Rotarians are invited. 

 

Guests are always welcome at our meetings and with the new venue they seem to really enjoy our meetings.
