On August 10, 2020 at the 5:30 Satellite Meeting for all Del Sol Rotarians via ZOOM, Heather Whitley and Chris Perkins from Splunk 4 Good were the guest speakers.  Splunk 4 Good is the arm of Splunk that "transforms the connective power of data into a strategic asset for nonprofits, universities, organizations and people  to do good in the world".  

 

Splunk, the parent organization is a Billion Dollar organization specializing in Data Aggregation that brings data to use in every part of a business organization.  Splunk has pledged $100million to bring data to the nonprofit world.  Examples of things they do are 1. Providing Real Time Covid-19 Data, 2. Providing software to eliminate Global Human Trafficking, which is free to all law enforcement agencies, and 3.  Works with Nethope to tackle Global Human Disasters.

 

Splunk 4 Good gives 10 gigs of software free to every nonprofit that requests it.  Heather was a high school teacher teaching robotics before joining Splunk.  Chris Perkins is a Cyber Security Professional.  Satellite Co-Chair, Dick Wilkinson, a Cyber Security Expert for the New Mexico Court System chaired the meeting.

Tomorrow Christine Glidden is leading another project Hope delivery, this one to the Acoma Pueblo.

 

Next Saturday Project Hope is returning to the Navajo Reservation to Nageezhi.  Christine still needs volunteer drivers.  Loading is Friday afternoon at 4:00pm and the trip starts at 9:00A. M. on Saturday August 22.  Members willing to load or drive can contact Christine directly or sign up on the Events Calendar on the RDS website.
