Passion for Service
This week Liz Montoya, who will be our Community Service Chair this upcoming Rotary year, spoke about one of her favorite charities, Compassion International, a nonprofit that has been releasing children out of poverty in 24 different countries for almost 75 years. The organization serves 2.2 million children. Liz has been a volunteer with for over 8 years and has sponsored a child for 4 of those years.
We found out during the presentation that a number of other Club Members also sponsor children through Compassion International as a way of helping their children and grandchildren learn about helping others.
