Last week, we heard from Cilena Trujillo and her Jump in 2 School Bash project where she provided backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, manicures and more to over 3,000 kids each summer. She started the project because as a foster child she understands how demoralizing it is to start the school year without supplies.
To help out, our club collected backpacks. Shirley Anderson shopped with money from club members and filled the backpacks with school supplies. Cilena told us that our club made the largest single donation of backpacks. We are looking forward to possibly volunteering at the event on July 20.

Ruidoso Donations
Rotarians get things done. At the meeting, we discussed various donation drives in place. The District has decided that the most effective approach for our district is to send donations directly to the Ruidoso Club's Foundation. This will enable the Ruidoso Rotarians to allocate funds to where and when they are most needed. Your willingness to help and participate fills us with pride. Please send your donations to the address provided below, and they will be forwarded to the President of the Ruidoso Club.

Freeloaders/Installation
Our next Freeloaders / RDS Officer Installation will be on June 29th at Kent and Melanie Cravens home at 6:00 PM. Their address is 616 Running Water Cir. SE which is in Four Hills.
For our newer members the way our Freeloader events work is that our host provides the main course which this time will be BBQ chicken, beef and pork with attendees/guests bringing appetizers, salads, side dishes and desserts. Water and soft drinks are usually provided by out host but please bring your own adult beverages.
Please RSVP to Melanie Cravens as soon as possible to allow our hosts to plan for the event.
A big congratulations to
Ed and Joyce Robertson on their 54th wedding anniversary.
