Last week, we heard from Toya Kaplan from Freedom House New Mexico. Freedom House New Mexico is dedicated to preventing the sexual exploitation of women in New Mexico. They offer a program that helps sexually exploited women leave their pasts behind and step into a brighter future. Many thanks to Toya for her important and illuminating presentation, and for the critical work she does in our community.
This week, we'll hear from Mike Gallagher, ABQ Journal investigative reporter on his work and outlook on crime and drug cartels in Albuquerque.

Over the weekend, our Rotary del Sol Team joined the A21 Walk for Freedom at the inspiration of last week's speaker, Toya Kaplan! Thanks to President Michael Barrio and his wife Erin, Dacia, Julie, and Shirley for going out and showing some support!
It's that time of year! Time to consider the opportunity to tutor children with our friends at Horizons! This opportunity is to visit with children in grades 1 - 6 to assist with homework or read books. We need another 5 tutors to make this initiative successful and really kick it off to a good start! Our friends at Desert Forge have requested help selling their crop of green chiles! They will be roasting, bagging, and selling the chiles on Saturday mornings (thruNovember 4th) at the Grower's Market on 8th & Central from 7:30am - 12:30pm.
