    • Need greeters at airport to welcome Zone participants.Need help Wednesday afternoon from 2-5pm and in the moring from 10AM – 12PM.
  • Dave Simon
    • The club will receive $1,200 for supporting the merchandise test at the balloon fiesta.
    • There are several Trunk or Treat events around Albuquerque on 10/24 from 4-8PM.
    • Ramp build on 11/8.More to follow.
    • Road Runner Food Bank needs volunteers for the event on 11/22 to support Thanksgiving.
    • We will be supporting Heart Gallery again this year.More to follow.
    • Out Rice and Beans fundraiser for RR Food Bank will be kicking off soon.More to follow.
    • Albuquerque will be getting a peace pole installed at Rotary Park.More to follow.
    • There will be a Polio Plus event of 10/24 at 4:30PM at Civic Plaza as part of Zone.
    • The last meet and greet at Jinja went very well.
    • The will be a 3-house progressive dinner in February at the homes of John H., Dave S. and Mike M.More to follow.

    • The annual club Christmas party will be at Jen and Brian’s home on 12/6 at 5:30PM.
  • Bruce S.
    • We will have a Retro meeting on 10/30 at Kit’s, Cynde’s or Greg’s offices.Bruce will pass around a sign-up sheet.
 
  • Speaker: Lilly Schliter, exchange student from Switzerland
    • Hosted by Emily and Nathan Anderson,
    • Switzerland is smaller than Pennsylvania.
    • Switzerland is broken up into the equivalent of states.
    • She lives in Bern which is the political capital.
    • They speak four languages in Switzerland – German, French, Italian and Romonsch.
    • Zurich and Lucern are famous cities.
    • Acpabzug – bring cows, sheep, goats, etc to the mountains for the summer.
    • Fasnacht – carnival.
    • There are five people in her family – mom, dad and 2 sisters.
    • Track and field is a hobby.  She participates through a club rather than through school.  She runs hurtles.
    • She goes to the Gymnasium – high school equivalent.
    • She plays saxophone in a jazz band at home called The Fish.
    • She has 2-hours of marching band practice every day.
    • Some differences between Switzerland and Albuquerque;
      • Everyone drives here no mater how short the travel distance.
      • Younger people drive here.  People younger than Lilly are driving here around here.
      • Her family doesn’t eat much fast food although they have Burger King and KFC here.  Her mom is a vegetarian.
      • People here are much more friendly than in Switzerland.
      • Most people go to church here but not so much in Switzerland.
