On June 2 at the Morning Meeting for All Del Sol Rotarians Dave Seely and Ron Hensley were the speakers. Dave , President of the Rotary Del Sol Foundation, discussed the work of the Foundation and highlighted that we have $88795 to give out to New Mexico Children's Charities as Grants this year. He reminded us that the Foundation currently has over $!,100,000 in its permanent fund.
There will be three kinds of grants available this year. Traditional Grants, Impact Grants and Start up Grants. He reminded us how we could get Mary Martin Fellows by contributing $250 to the RDS Foundation.
Ron Hensley spoke on the Rotary Foundation and compared and contrasted it to the RDS Foundation. Ron said that the Rotary Foundation has immunized over 3 Billion people against polio. He told us about the Share System in which the Foundation keeps contributions for three years and then distributes 50% of the money to the Districts for District Grants and 50% to the World Fund. Last year there were 28 Global Grants in the District for a total of $187232 to District 5520 Clubs. Our Club's all time giving to the Rotary Foundation is $677681. He also discussed Paul Harris Fellowships which many members of the Club have more than one of for contributing $1000 to the Foundation.
Also at Thursdays Meeting Greg Hallstrom announced that the next Ramp Build is set for Saturday June 11.On June 1 there was a module build at the warehouse where a number of modules were constructed which will be used in later Ramps Projects.
On Tuesday, June 7 at 5:30PM at Nexus Brewery and on ZOOM there will be a Satellite Meeting for All Del Sol Rotarians. Brent Melville will be the Speaker and lead a discussion of Service Projects for the upcoming year.
On June 9 at 7:00AM at Jimmy's Cafe and on ZOOM there will be a Morning Meeting for All Del Sol Rotarians. Speaker To be Determined.
