Horse Rehab at Tamaya
Our guest this week was Connie Collis from Tamaya Horse Rescue.
The organization has rescued over 108 animals. Most end up getting rehabilitated and end up working in the Tamaya trail program. The program is largely funded through Tamaya.
The old and sick horses go to Connie's house in San Ysidro.
Greg Marcantel also joined by zoom and talked about how much volunteering means to him.
They have a philosophy of staying positive and focus on helping the horses rather than judging the circumstances where they came from.
Opportunities to help:
* Fundraiser on Tuesday at M'Tucci's. Tell them you are from the Horse Rescue and they get 20% of the bill.
* Volunteer to help take care of the horses.
* Donate silent auction items or attend the Gala on November 25th.
* Come to Tamaya and ride and spread the word.
Host Families Needed for Balloon Fiesta
Host families needed the second weekend in October to host high school exchange students for the weekend. Hosts are mostly responsible for getting the students to the Sheraton at 3:45am. If you can help out, contact Tony Pino.
