Club Happenings

1.  Club Meeting Updates

This past week, we had two outstanding meetings and programs!  On Tuesday at our Twilight Meeting, we were joined by Ray Nelson, Past Scoutmaster for our chartered Boy Scout Troop 285, who gave us an update on what the Scouts are up to!  The collaboration that we have with the Boy Scout Troop as well as Cub Scout Pack 442 has been outstanding, and we have just scratched the surface for community service project opportunities!

On Thursday, we were thrilled to have our Club Vice-President, Aprilyn Chavez Geissler, present on "An Attitude of Gratitude and Grit" exemplified by the picture above of Aprilyn in a moment of true grit!

This week, our Thursday speaker will be Rhiannon Samuel, Executive Director of NAIOP, speaking about commercial real estate in New Mexico.

2. Bike Fund-Raiser Update

Our goal for sponsorships for our July bike fund-raiser to support Women To Be was $7500 and we made it!!!  Our next focus is identifying riders, and our goal is 50.  Please consider riding yourself or recruiting riders for the event. If you have anyone who is interested, please provide their contact info to President Jeff (1-505-400-1403 or jweinrach5520@nmia.com) or Christine (csglidden@swcp.com) so we can get them registered.

And please clink on the link below to get a gist of what Women To Be is up to in our community!

If you are interested in being one of our trainers for this roll-out, please contact President Jeff at 1-505-400-1403 or jweinrach5520@nmia.com.

6. Rotary Fellowships and Rotary Action Groups

Besides all the great activities we do at the Club level, members have the opportunity to join Rotary Fellowships and Rotary Action Groups.  The Fellowships tend to be more social in nature (Golf, Wine, etc.), while the action groups are aligned with Rotary's Areas of Focus and the work we do through the Rotary Foundation (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene; Polio Survivors, etc.).  Please consider joining one or more of these groups to add to your Rotary experience:
