This week in Rotary
On August 8, 2020 Del Sol Rotarians as well as Rotarians from Del Norte and the Downtown Club delivered food and supplies to Crown Point on the Navajo Reservation. Over $1500 worth of food and supplies were delivered.

The project is chaired by Christine Glidden who was instrumental, together with Past President Dave Simon, in obtaining a $25000 Rotary Covid-19 Grant to support this very worthwhile project called the Navajo Hope Project.  Plans going forward are to alternate Saturday deliveries between the Navajo Reservation and Pueblos along the Rio Grande.  Christine says that members with SUV and trucks are DESPERATELY needed to drive the food and supplies.  The trip to Crown Point takes about 5 hours with the round trip and unloading.  Members who want to participate can sign up on the RDS Events Calendar on the website or contact Christine Glidden or Chris Van Dyck directly.

On Thursday, August 6 at the Morning Meeting for All Del Sol Rotarians, Jason Espinoza, Executive Director of the New Mexico Safe Certified Program discussed the Covid Safe Practices program to certify businesses that complete the program.  New Mexico is the only state to have a Certification program.  Jason said they work with a lot of different categories of businesses to train their management teams on Safe Covid-19 Practices.  He emphasized that this is good for the safety of the employees as well as the customers of these businesses.  Businesses that complete the training and get Certified can use that information for marketing purposes.

Tomorrow, at 5:30 PM the Satellite Meeting will be held via ZOOM.  Jeff Weinrach has sent out an email invitation to all members.   Our guest presenter will be Heather Whitley with Splunk4Good. Splunk is a popular software program that answers a variety of business organizational needs.

Remember that the Health Care Heroes project is ongoing. Drivers are still needed.  Please sign up on the Events Calendar on the website or contact Chris Van Dyck directly.

Treasurer John Gordon reminds members to set up a Venmo account in order to pay Happy Bucks, Fines or Dues.  It is fast and easy and can be downloaded as an APP on your smart phone.

Lets all have a Great week in Rotary putting Service above Self.
