On Monday October 19, 2020 President Ed Robertson hosted a Satellite Meeting for All Del Sol Rotarians. The meeting was a Club Assembly to discuss the Clubs goals for the current Rotary Year. Ed led a lively discussion of the members on our various goals and explained to some of the newer members about various aspects of Rotary that they may have been unaware about. For example, Rotary Action Groups and Rotary Fellowships.
District Conference this year will be virtual online.
Also there was a discussion of Rotary Training opportunities, such as PETS, Foundation Training and Vibrant Club Training. Since these are all online this year, more members can attend.
Also discussed were our goals regarding RI Foundation Annual Fund and the Polio Plus Fund as well as the new Polio Plus Society.
One important issue raised was that members doing Service Projects need to provide the date, name of the project plus hours worked to Club Secretary Davis Riordan so that they can be posted in Club Runner and Rotary Club Central. We are doing many great Service Projects and we should get credit for them.
Regarding the Polio Plus Society, District Governor Sunny Kellerman and PDG Linda Woodward will be sending out a form for members in the District to use to sign up. A member can be part of the Polio Plus Society for a commitment of $100 per year.
The Bi-District Conference was held online October 23-24.
On October 29, 2020 at the Morning Meeting for all Del Sol Rotarians Thanks to Shirley Anderson we will have a great speaker. Kate Barone-Dimock and Andrea Hanson from Dekker/Perich/Sabatini Architects will address the club on designing workspace for the post covid work environment. This will prove to be possibly our best presentation this year and you won't want to miss it. Club Secretary Davis Riordan will be sending out a link for the meeting.
Starting on November 2 the Satellite Group will have a series of very interesting speakers relating to what other service organizations are doing. Satellite Co-Chair has sent out a detailed email regarding the series and a link for the November 2, 2020 meeting.
You will note from the calendar that at present there is only one Morning Meeting scheduled for November on November 12 due to Thanksgiving being on November 26. It is possible that another Morning Meeting will be added.
Please keep in mind all the Service Projects that are ongoing such as Ramps, Healthcare Hero and the Navajo Hope Project.
Finally, as Covid-19 Cases are on he rise lets all remember to Be Well and Be Safe.
Lets all have a Great week in Rotary putting Service above Self.
