Last Weeks Thursday Meeting at Meals on Wheels featured John Lopez, Owner of the Albuquerque Gladiators World Champion Indoor Football League team. He gave a very inspiring speech about how the team interacts with members of the community, especially young children from poor families.
Lance Blount, one of our newest members was Rotarian of the Day. He told about his Military career and about how after retirement from the Military he wanted to be in business so he now owns Christian Brothers Auto Repair in Albuquerque. He said he wanted to join Rotary to help with service projects in our community.
We had a full house for our Satellite meeting this week. Ashlee Andrews, owner of Los Suenos Veterinary group,one of the largest locally-owned groups of veterinary clinics in the state, spoke and showed us how she has created a family friendly workplace for over 43 employees (as a single mother of 6). Our next meeting is 10/15 when we will be hearing a presentation from the East Mountain High School Interact club and discussing how we can support them this year.
Tomorrow at 5:30 PM at Nexus Brewery is a Governors Ball Committee Meeting. All members are invited.
October 11, Regular Club Meeting will feature Sean Levesque Speaking on Labor Trafficking.
On October 17 at 6:00PM at El Pinto Restaurant Linda Woodward, District 5520 Governor and her husband will be the Dinner guests of the Rotary Del Sol Board to discuss plans for the District this year.
October 18 Regular Meeting will feature District Governor Linda Woodward. We want to have a good turnout for our District Governor so please plan to attend.
