This week in Rotary
On September 12 at the Regular Thursday Meeting, Tim Cummins of Rio Real Estate updated the membership on the "Central NM Railpark" in Los Lunas which was started in 2007. He explained that when finished this 1400 acre project will produce more economic activity than any comparable facility in New Mexico. He told us that 50% of all goods imported into the USA come from Loa Angeles through the BNSF facility in Belen. The Railyard Project is five miles from the new Facebook facility in Los Lunas which has 1300 people on site during construction of the six building facility.

Tim explained that the Los Lunas facility has a quick turnaround on permitting and siting because of quick action by the Los Lunas City government on such things as building permits.

Last  night Del Sol Rotarians had an enjoyable evening dining on Burgers and Brats at Brad and Caryn Ekhoff's home during Septembers Freeloaders party.

Last Tuesday, September 10, 2019 the RDS Foundation Board met at U.S. Eagle Credit Union, "Brad's Bank" and regretfully accepted Julie Frendle's resignations a Board  Member.  We all thank Julie for her service and wish Julie and Rick well.

Tomorrow at 5:15 pm the Satellite Meeting gathers at Nexus Brewery. All members are invited.  This is a great way to do a makeup and enjoy some fellowship.  Members are reminded of the higher traffic volume due to President Trump's visit to the Santa Anna Star Center.

On Tuesday, September 17 at 7:00AM the RDS Board meets at Jimmy's Cafe.  All members are invited especially Red Badge members who need to attend a Board meeting to attain Blue Badge status.

Lance Ellis of the Satellite Meeting has taken on the responsibility of being liaison to the East Mountain High Interact Club which RDS sponsors.  East Mountain is a very active Interact Club with 18  members.  They want to be more involved with Del Sol service projects and activities. They will be receiving the Bulletin to keep abreast of Club events and projects.

Thursday's Regular Club Meeting at Meals on Wheels will feature Darin Sand in a Community Update.  Membership chair Barrie Segall will also be presenting Blue Badges to Brian Fisher and Davis Riordan.

All members are reminded to sign up for three upcoming fundraising events:

1.  Paints for Polio on September 25-This promises to be a fun event hosted by the Satellite Group and is our Clubs event for Polio Day.

2. Balloon Fiesta-Please contact Doreen Kelsey who still needs a couple of volunteers for the merchandising tent on October 6. Shifts are 4:30 AM to 11:00AM.

3. Sporting Clay Shoot Fundraiser at Tinnin Farm.  Ron Hensley still needs teams and sponsors.  He also needs volunteers as lunch servers. This is the Clubs primary fall fundraiser and promises to be a great time for all participant.

Lets all have a Great week in Rotary putting Service above Self.
