On January 7, 2021 at the Morning Meeting for All Del Sol Rotarians, Danielle Casey, new CEO of Albuquerque Economic Development, was the great speaker. She told us about her previous experience in Economic Development with the cities of Maricopa and Scottsdale in Arizona and Sacramento, California. Danielle was hired in Albuquerque as a result of a national search. This is Danielle's first CEO position.
Danielle said Albuquerque needs to recover from the twin hits of remnants of the Great Recession and the Pandemic economic damage.
Positive news in the 4th quarter of 2020 included the Netflix expansion. Work needs to be done to improve the supply chain. She said a major emphasis of AED will be more high paid industry jobs. On being questioned by members Danielle said that the change to more Virtual office work will make big changes in the office space market. There will still be a demand but for different kinds of space.
Also at Thursday's meeting, Greg Hallstrom announced the latest Ramps project for this last Saturday and also announced the next Grants Training Seminar for March.
On the Ramps Project, President Ed said we need more contributions because the Grant Money has been expended. Members can use Venmo to send funds for the project to Treasurer John Gordon.
Christine Glidden put out a call for a Social Media person to help with her Nepal project.
Tony Pino discussed the upcoming Virtual Governors Ball and the District Presidents Meeting which was last Friday wt 7:30AM.
Tomorrow at 5:30p.m. the Satellite Meeting for all Del Sol Rotarians will be held via ZOOM. Jeff Weinrach has sent out a link to attend to all Del Sol Rotarians. Program for the meeting will be Covid 19 Vaccinations and how to obtain them.
