On November 1 at the Regular Thursday Meeting, New Mexico Amigos  Laura Riley was the Guest Speaker. She told the Club about the Amigos and how they make an annual trip to support and advocate for business coming into New Mexico. They are Bipartisan "Good Will Ambassadors for NM" They have 90 chapters and 380 members around the state.  Membership is by invitation and members pay all their own expenses for the trips.  Laura told how the Amigos were helpful in bringing Intel and the Film Industry into New Mexico. 

 

Laura said she was born in  Lindreth, NM and had a elementary school graduating class of 4 people.

 

Last Wednesday evening the Rotary Del Sol Foundation Board met at Dean Constantine's Law Office.

 

Last Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00PM the Satellite Meeting members hosted Pints for Polio at Tractor Brewing.  Dick Wilkinson, Brent Melville and Foundation Treasurer, Brad Sackett manned the desk and collected funds by selling raffle tickets and Pints for Polio Glasses.  22 Del Sol Rotarians, other Rotarians from Albuquerque and guests attended and had a great time.  We don't have final numbers on monies raised as of yet.

 

RDS Board meets November 12 from 7:00-8:00AM at Jimmy's on Jefferson.  Come have breakfast and find out what your Board has planned.

 

Also on November 12 at 5:30PM at Nexus Brewery the Governors Ball Committee will have their Monthly Meeting.  Please feel welcome to come have a beverage and find out how you can help with the Ball

 

The Regular Thursday meeting on November 15 at Meals on Wheels will feature Clint Wells from CNM Foundation.

 

Membership Committee  chaired by Barrie Segall meets Thursday at 5:30PM  at Jimmy's

 

Beans and Rice-Now is the time for all good Del Sol Rotarians to lug in their bags of Beans and Rice or easier write a check to the Rotary Del Sol Foundation and hand it to me, Tom Cullen, Dave Seely or Brad Sackett.  "Easy-Peasy"

 

Sponsorship packets are now available for Governors Ball.  All members are requested to obtain sponsors to make this a Great Governors Ball.

 

Remember to sign up for the Annual Holiday Party on December 9, 2018 at Santa Ana Resort and Casino.  This is a no cost event except for Adult Beverages so we hope to have a great turnout.
