Hello Y'all (so glad it's fall) and time to plan for the first Ronald McDonald Guest Chef dinner. So far, many Del Sol members have indicated their interest in preparing and serving food to the residents @ Spring Hill Suites(across from Presbyterian Hospital) residing there because of specialty medical treatment for their young children. A Halloween themed dinner will be offered to 45 residents and food preparation will start around 4 pm (or later if we determine that the prep requires less time). Costumes ( not necessarily extravagant) are highly recommended and food should have some spooky elements. Dan and Maxine are in charge of making their highly rated Beef Stroganoff (otherwise referred to as Beast Ghoulash) and Meredith is planning to make her famous Graveyard Pudding. We can gather to talk about the dinner after a Thursday meeting (if possible) or email our thoughts about other meal items and culinary needs.
Friday, October 25th is a possibility as well. Please RSVP ASAP to reserve a spot. Too many cooks can spoil a (witch's caldron)-- only 10 spots are available. We will also do a Christmas themed dinner in December as well as a Valentine's dinner in February for those who are interested but cannot be accommodated this time.
