• Myers Godwin, President & CEO Albuquerque Museum Foundation, and Andrew Conners, Albuquerque Museum Director, and guest speakers.

  • The Foundations’ mission is to deliver sustainable financial support to the museum with stewardship and transparency to enhance the museum’s engagement with our community through art, history, culture, and education. 

  • Their presentation and narrative shared stories and photos from programs that bring children into creative spaces such as exploring local history, making art, working alongside artists, and seeing their won ideas come to life. 

  • The photos showed murals, student projects and many students who are benefiting from the museum experience.

  • Both speakers mentioned that when budgets are cut, the arts are often the first things to go.  This does the students a disservice because it stifles their creativity, curiosity and connection to helping them to see what’s possible.
