International Project Fair
Kit T. reviewed the potential projects for the International Project Fair. There is $1,000 in club funds to support a project of the club’s choice.
Five Projects fight disease.
Corazon de Ninos – provides low-income children across the El Paso-Las Cruces -Ciudad Juarez-Chihuahua region with cardiac screenings, treatment and life-saving surgery for congenital heart disease.
Salud para Todos – builds ten community telemedicine modules with satellite internet and TytoCare technology, coordinated through a regional center. Will reduce medical travel by 40%.
Walk Again with Your Prosthesis – provides lower-limb prostheses to amputees, helping participants mobility, independence and quality of life.
Eyes on You/ Con la Vista en Ti – provides comprehensive strabismus treatment to low-income children and youth: identification, socioeconomic assessment, ophthalmologic evaluation, corrective surgery, postoperative care and community education.
Rotary Compassion Project for End-Stage Renal Disease Patients – adds two hemodialysis machines to a rural public hospital to expand access to patients with end-stage renal disease, reduces travel and waiting burdens and strengthens long-term treatment capacity.
Clean Water, Sanitation & Hygiene.
Potable Water Treatment Plant for Bavata, La Carrera, Galvan Villages and El Nogal – provides sustainable chlorinated drinking water to 250 homes and two schools, directly benefitting about 1,200 people.Includes a water treatment plant plus community training in maintenance, sanitation, hygiene and responsible water use.
Rain Gardens for the Santa Fe Women’s Club – creates rain gardens, bioretention basins and one-rock dam to capture stormwater, reduce erosion and evaporation, support aquifer recharge and conserve water in the Rio Grande Watershed.
Safe Water – provides a safer and more reliable water supply to Colonia Venustiano Carranza through an elevated water tank and cooperation between local municipalities with 100,000 liters of capacity and 5,250 potential beneficiaries.
Clean Water, Healthy Children – installs water softeners and reverse-osmosis systems in school drinking fountains.The project promotes healthy hydration, reduces illness risk and helps minimize single-use plastics.
Protecting the Environment.
Sustainable Hydroponics in Juarez– develops sustainable hydroponic production in Juarez.
Bombera Rapida para la Proteccion de Creel – acquires and places into service a rapid-response fire unit to improve response to forest and urban fires in Creel and Sierra Tarahumara, protecting residents, infrastructure and the surrounding ecosystem.
Promoting Peace.
Plaza Encuentros Peace Garden and Training Curriculum – creates an outdoor peace garden and training space and provides scholarships for 160 participants in advanced peace-building curriculum incorporating Rotary Positive Peace principles and cross-border learning.
After some discussion, Kit T. asked for a show of hands on which project the club wanted to support.The club chose to support two projects: Corazon de Ninos and Rotary Compassion Project for End-Stage Renal Disease Patients.Since the club chose to support two projects, a motion was made to raise an additional $1,000.The motion carried and the club will raise an additional $1,000 in club funds to support both projects at the Internation Projects Fair.

Salad Bowl America is built on one guiding belief: to truly honor culture, we must Recognize, Understand, and Respect it. Those aren’t just words. They are a commitment, a standard, a way of approaching every community we highlight and every story we choose to tell.
Culture is not something to be blended into uniformity. It is something to be witnessed, preserved, and celebrated. A space where heritage is honored without being simplified, where every community feels seen, where stories aren’t reduced but elevated.
