This last Thursday's Regular Club Meeting was replaced by a series of individual meetings in Del Sol Rotarians Homes where the speaker was "Tom Turkey" and members and their families celebrated the many blessings we have as Americans, New Mexicans and Rotarians, who emphasize "Service above Self"
On November 19, The Del Sol Satellite Group held their meeting at 5:15 at Nexus Brewery where Del Sol Rotarian Christine Glidden of Women2Be was the speaker. A report was also given about the Pints for Polio event November 8, 2018.
This Thursdays regular Club Meeting will feature Lou Duran from the New Mexico Department of Health speaking on There is Another Way, Governor Susanna Martinez project to help members of the community avoid the perils of opioid addiction. This will be a very informative and timely presentation on one of the serious issues of our times. Please lets have a good turnout for this important subject.
Remember it is Beans and Rice time again so either bring your bags of Beans and Rice or a check made out to the Rotary Del Sol Foundation and give it to Tom Cullen, Brad Sackett, Dave Seely or me. Lets remember that having just all stuffed ourselves with turkey and dressing that our state leads the nation in childhood hunger and many of our fellow New Mexicans need our help especially at this time of the year.
The RDS Satellite Group is helping the East Mountain Interact Club(the Del Sol Interact Club) with their SOCK DRIVE so please remember to bring new socks of any size or color to either the Regular morning meeting or the Satellite Meeting any time through December. After all, you wouldn't want cold feet this winter and neither do our less fortunate citizens.
December 9 is the Del Sol Holiday party at Santa Ana Resort and Casino. This is a freebie hosted by Santa Ana so lets all please join our fellow Rotarians for a great time.
